Hi, I would like to seek recommendations of places to visit in austria. I would be visiting in may, and would like some advise on places to go on a road trip. My starting point would be vienna. And my roadtrip will take around 8 days. I hope to hear from the locals on places to visit especially scenic places and nature places, and all things i shouldn't be missing! Thanks!

In 8 days you can visit all provincial capitals of Austria. How long you are planning to stay in one place? What are your interests? What would you like to see?

Carinthia has nice landscapes. Especially the lakes. Salzkammergut in Upper Austria (Gmunden) is also very nice and worth to visit.

Austria with its beautiful mountainous scenery is rightly renowned for its skiing. Innsbruck, which has hosted two Winter Olympics, continues to be extremely popular and is well worth a visit even in the summer months. Here you will find the amazing Swarovski Crystal Walk Visitor Centre where you can marvel at the stunning crystal on display. For the more adventurous, jump on the aerial gondola ride up to the two-mile high Stubai glacier also just outside Innsbruck; it's so high that while riding the gondola you will be rubbing shoulders with skiers, even in summer!
